aade_preloaded: the receipt before the card payment, for delivery, pick-up and the table
With aade_preloaded the receipt is issued at once with its ΜΑΡΚ, on credit, and the charge waits on the terminal. A card payment turns it into a card receipt, a cash payment leaves it as it is. When you want it and what happens next.
In the normal card flow the receipt waits: it goes to the terminal, the guest pays, and only then does it take its ΜΑΡΚ. But there are moments when the receipt has to exist before the guest pays, and before you even know whether they will pay by card. That is what aade_preloaded is for.
What it does
You send the 11.1 receipt with the terminal and one more field:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
pos_device_id | The terminal that will charge |
payment_ | 3 |
aade_ | true |
- The receipt is issued at once, with its ΜΑΡΚ and the payment method "on credit".
- The charge waits on the terminal, ready for the moment of payment.
- When the guest pays by card on that terminal, Wrapp switches the receipt's payment method to card, with a new payment ΜΑΡΚ.
The complete body is in the JSON examples for the card at the door.
Normal flow or aade_preloaded
| Aspect | Card on the terminal | With aade_preloaded |
|---|---|---|
| When the receipt takes its ΜΑΡΚ | Once the payment is approved | At once |
| Payment method at issue | Card | On credit, becomes card on payment |
| If the guest pays cash | You send a cash receipt, no terminal | The same receipt stays on credit |
When you want it
Delivery with the card at the door
The order leaves with its receipt. You send the receipt with the driver's terminal and aade_preloaded, and the charge waits on that terminal. At the door the guest taps the card, and the receipt they already hold becomes a card receipt.
Payment on pick-up
The guest ordered take-away and will pay on arrival. The receipt goes out when the order is being prepared, and the charge waits on the counter terminal until they show up.
The bill at the table
The receipt is printed and goes to the table together with the terminal, the way guests are used to seeing the bill before paying. If the table has order notes, the receipt correlates them like any table receipt.
After the payment
- By card: no second webhook fires, because the receipt was already issued and only its payment method changes. You read the card details with
GET /invoices/{id}. - In cash: you cancel the charge on the terminal and the receipt stays "on credit". Nothing else is needed: no credit note, no new receipt.
- Refund: since the receipt itself charged the card, the refund is an 11.4 with the terminal, as the guide to refunds to the card explains.
How to start
Sign up free at wrapp.ai with your VAT number and press "Try the API". On staging you connect a Viva demo terminal and try both flows, with no tax effect. How the card works in the normal flow, and mixed payment, is explained in the guide to split payment and the card at the table.
Frequently asked questions
What does aade_preloaded do?
It issues the receipt at once, with its ΜΑΡΚ and the payment method on credit, and sends the charge to wait on the terminal. When the guest pays by card on that terminal, the receipt's payment method becomes card, with a new payment ΜΑΡΚ.
When do I use aade_preloaded instead of the normal flow?
When the receipt has to exist before the guest pays: delivery with the card at the door, payment on pick-up, and a bill that goes printed to the table together with the terminal.
What if the guest pays cash after all?
You cancel the charge on the terminal and the receipt stays on credit. No credit note and no new receipt are needed.
Does a webhook arrive when the card is paid?
Not a second one. The receipt was already issued and only its payment method changes, so you read the card details with GET /invoices/{id}.
How do I refund a receipt issued with aade_preloaded?
Since the receipt itself charged the card, one 11.4 credit note with pos_device_id, refund_invoice_id set to the receipt's id and its ΜΑΡΚ in correlated_invoices credits the sale and refunds the card together.
