Wrapp Partner Portal: how to start as a partner and invite your customers
You create your partner yourself, in a minute, on wrapp.ai and on staging alike. From there you open Wrapp accounts for your customers in two ways: with one button in the Partner Portal, no code at all, or from your own app with the Partners API.
You build software, a POS, an ERP or a platform, and you want your customers to issue myDATA documents inside your own app. On Wrapp that works through a partner: a partner account from which you open Wrapp accounts for your customers and see them all in one place, the Partner Portal.
You create your partner yourself, on wrapp.ai and on staging alike. There is nothing to request from us: you sign up free, give it a name, and your Partner API key appears straight away.
Step 1: Create your partner
- Sign up free at wrapp.ai with your company's Greek VAT number (ΑΦΜ).
- From the menu, press Connections → «Partner Portal». It opens while your account setup is still in progress too.
- On the «Become a Wrapp Partner» page, type the partner name and press «Create partner».
You see «Your partner is created» and the «Partner API key» window opens by itself: the partner name, the key, the header you send it in (X-PARTNER-API-KEY), the API address and the first steps. Keep the key on your server only, never in browser or mobile app code. You can find it again any time under the Partner Portal's «Partner API key» button. On wrapp.ai we also send you a welcome email with the next steps.
Choose the name with care: your customers see it. The invite email they receive has the subject «Automatic myDATA documents through» followed by your partner's name.
Step 2: Invite a customer, no code at all
In the Partner Portal, press «Invite customer» and fill in:

Press «Send invite». Four things follow:
- Your customer's Wrapp account opens right away and appears in your list.
- Your customer gets an email from Wrapp with a login link. The link is valid for 12 hours.
- If you have a webhook, we send the customer's API key there right away. It is sent only once, so store it.
- Your customer sees the same key on the last step of their own setup. Without a webhook, that is where they get it for you.
The general webhook
The Partner Portal's «Webhook» button sets a general webhook. Every new customer, from the Portal or the API, starts with it unless you give them their own, and it is filled into the invite form for you. Existing customers keep theirs. You change a customer's webhook from your list, and the change does not resend their API key.
The same, from your app with the Partners API
When you want your app to open accounts on its own, you use the Partners API. The result is exactly the same as an invite from the Portal: the same account, the same email to the customer, the same webhook.
- Send the Partner API key on every call, in the
X-PARTNER-API-KEYheader. - Check whether your customer already has an account with
embedded_check_user. - Open the account and log the customer in with
external_login, using the same email, partner user id and phone. It appears in your Partner Portal list right away.

Test on staging first
The same steps work in the test environment. Inside your test account you create a test partner, with its own key that only works on staging.wrapp.ai, and invite test customers that carry no tax validity. Do I need to ask you to make me a partner?
No. You create the partner yourself, on wrapp.ai and on staging alike: sign up free, open Connections → «Partner Portal», give it a name and press «Create partner». Your Partner API key appears straight away.
Do I have to finish activating my own account first?
No. The Partner Portal opens while your account setup is still in progress too, from the same menu: Connections → «Partner Portal».
How do I invite a customer without writing code?
In the Partner Portal, press «Invite customer», fill in the email, partner user id and phone, and press «Send invite». The customer's account opens right away and the customer gets an email with a login link.
How long is the link my customer receives valid for?
12 hours. The link arrives in the invite email, whose subject reads «Automatic myDATA documents through» followed by your partner's name.
How do I get my customer's API key?
If you have a webhook, we send it there as soon as the account opens. It is sent only once, so store it. Your customer sees the same key on the last step of their own setup, so without a webhook they give it to you from there.
What is the partner user id?
Your customer's identifier in your own system. It is how you match the Wrapp account to your user, and it must be unique within your partner.
What is the difference between inviting from the Portal and the Partners API?
None in the result: both routes open exactly the same account. The Portal suits inviting customers one at a time. The API, with external_login, suits an app that opens accounts on its own.
Why does the invite say the customer already exists?
Because the email is already used somewhere in Wrapp, or because you already have a customer with the same partner user id. The message tells you which.
Can I test on staging first?
Yes. Inside your test account you create a test partner, with its own key, and invite test customers that carry no tax validity. On wrapp.ai you create a separate partner for production.
